Let’s face it—summer can throw your money routine off track. Between vacations, back-to-school prep, and the general chaos of life, it’s easy to lose sight of your financial goals. That’s why Money Talks is here with a powerful reminder: it’s not too late to reset.

In this episode, we welcomed Tiffany Irving, a seasoned wealth advisor and Purse Strings Approved Professional, to guide us through a midyear financial reboot. Whether you’ve crushed your 2025 goals or haven’t looked at your budget since March, this session was packed with real talk and smart moves to help you finish strong.

Why Midyear Matters

Here at Purse Strings, we know women’s lives (and finances) are anything but one-size-fits-all. That’s why we create space each week to talk about real money issues—without the jargon, without the judgment.

In this session, Tiffany reminded us that midyear is the perfect time to pause, reflect, and make small, strategic adjustments. Because life shifts—and so should your money plan.

Reclaiming Your Routine: Where to Start

Tiffany walked us through key financial checkpoints every woman should revisit now:

  • Are your goals still your goals? Maybe you planned to max your IRA, but now you’re focused on paying off medical debt. That’s okay. Realign your goals to match your life as it is now—not the version you imagined in January.

  • What’s really going in and out each month? Check your cash flow. Cancel the subscription you forgot you had. See what’s draining your wallet and reroute that cash toward something that supports your future.

  • Is your emergency fund feeling thin? Replenish it—even slowly. That cushion = peace of mind.

  • Are you leaving retirement money on the table? If your employer offers a match, grab it. If you’re behind, start with what you can. A little is better than nothing.

  • Are you ready for tax season…in December? Tiffany dropped gems on tax strategies like Roth conversions and charitable giving that you can still act on before year’s end.

Looking Ahead (Yes, Even to the Holidays)

Spoiler alert: the holidays are coming. Tiffany suggests building those costs into your budget now—so gifts, travel, and family dinners don’t derail your financial progress.

Planning ahead isn’t just responsible—it’s empowering.

Teamwork = Less Stress, More Strategy

Tiffany also shared why working with a collaborative financial team (think: investment advisor, insurance pro, estate planner) can help you stay focused and confident. At Purse Strings, that’s what we’re all about—connecting women with financial pros who get it, and who get you.

You Don’t Have to Do It All at Once

A financial reboot doesn’t have to be a full overhaul. Tiffany reminds us that even small steps count. Maybe that’s reviewing your spending this weekend. Or booking a call with a financial pro. Or setting one new savings goal before the holidays hit.

Whatever it is, you’re in control—and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
