Almost all women focus on helping everyone else before they consider helping themselves. While this is admirable, women lose sight that their ability to serve depends on them having something to give. Which would mean that at some point, women need to put their needs first. (Gasp!) I receive the most joy when women give themselves permission to dream and pursue that dream. Not someone else's idea of a dream, but their very own idea! The most amazing part of the coaching journey is seeing the women embrace the possibilities and understand that by choosing themselves, they are better able to model how to live life fully.
At 22, I thought I had my life laid out in front of me. Teaching H.S. math, getting my masters, having 2.5 kids and then retire in my 50’s. Fortunately, life offered me another journey. One where I’ve re-created myself in a variety of careers, from accounting and office work, to advertising sales, marketing director, solar sales, financial advisor, realtor and now coach. I’ve worked in small family businesses, start-ups and large corporations. All of this has helped me better relate to my client’s needs. On a personal note, I divorced in 2004 and started a local program called Bridge2Better to help connect divorced women with local professionals. I am also active in Rotary and the American Women’s Business Association. Serving the community and helping other women professionals is very important to me.
Working with Terri is a pleasure. She is very giving with her knowledge and easily encourages you to step out of your comfort zone. I truly enjoy working with Terri and recommend her to any of my friends and colleagues. |
