Women are the backbone of our society. For way too many generations, women were expected to be in the background; yet they have been a foundation to our society for so long, allowing men to take all the glory of achievements, inventions, and advancements through our time on this planet. It’s true that it takes a village to raise a child, and it is important that everyone plays their role, but I am a firm believer that a person should be able to choose their role and not have it assigned to them at birth. Through gender norms, women have always been giving the responsibility of being a caretaker, whether it be for their children, their spouses, their parents, or their home as a whole. This role that many women have to take, reduces their chance of being financially successful.
Let’s call out the obvious and acknowledge the strength and power women have. Without them we don’t have life; yes, men provide their genetic material, but it takes a woman to carry a child for nine months, changing her body in the process to give life. Yet society does not pay her the respect she deserves.  My hope is to make a difference by serving the female market with a dynamic approach of educating my clients and treating them with respect by not speaking at them, but instead empowering them. Through my 12 years of experience, I’ve come to find that women tend to be my best students and divorcees are by far at the top of that list. I see this because in many situations, women are not treated as an equal in a heterosexual household when it comes to finances. Then, with the societal pressures these households endure, strain is put on a relationship when the wife or female partner is the bread winner. In my experience working with divorcees of a heterosexual marriage, these women rise to the top of the class because they are ready to take ownership over their financial futures and are excited to learn as much as they can to better themselves.
Being a minority myself, I understand what it means and feels like to be marginalized by society and I am committed to changing this dynamic through education and empowerment. Come with your note pad and your questions in hand and let’s get to work! Get ready to download as much of the information I have as possible to create a better you; but please, do me a favor, when you do get this information don’t let it stop with you. Empower your family, friends, and colleagues by teaching them about the information you’ll gathered and the strategies you’ll learn to achieve financial success.
Here’s to challenging the status quo!
