6 of my top 10 clients are women. They range from life experiences being widowed, single business owner, retired professor, and retired successful business person being the primary bread winner. I listen for the need they present as they experience risk and fear differently than men. I work at designing a solution not selling products. I work at aligning goals they can live with going forward. Either retire comfortably and remain comfortably retired, or creating a legacy for family or children, and finally, not being in the impact of financial loss due to poor planning of the household breadwinner due to sudden death or major disability.
I moved to Austin in 1987 from Boston with my wife and first son. 3M moved me to handle Mexico as a bilingual sales manager. Both sons live in Austin and my daughter recently moved away for a job in Memphis with St. Jude’s Research Hospital. My wife, Jackie, of 42 years is a management consultant helping firms develop their “Culture”. Both sons are involved with commercial real estate and my daughter does public relations.
I left corporate and started my financial career with NY Life. I wanted to be involved with the community and stop traveling. I wanted to watch my family grow. I realized most folks did not plan financially for the “What-If’s” of life and wanted to further help with education and retirement planning. I saw most of my contemporaries weren’t ready for retirement. I got my securities license and have been creating financial plans for the past 13 years.
Because of my experience in raising a family and working for major corporations like, J&J, 3M, GE, and AT&T, I know my way around benefits, options, and helping clients take full advantage of their resources. Tax planning is a major consideration when retiring. I help clients align their goals for a lifestyle they’ve established and want to live into.
