Founded 30 years ago, Godfrey Financial Associates (GFA) created a new, more inclusive financial services firm that doesn't rely on the outdated expectations of the past. Instead, our firm supports and empowers clients through true partnership, where integrity, transparency, and honesty are at the core of everything we do. Located just outside of Albany, NY, we are a boutique, women-owned and all-female fiduciary team that supports clients with financial planning, including retirement planning, investment management, estate planning, and insurance planning. Our approach is unique, specifically targeting female clients. We help our clients navigate life-changing circumstances and build a secure financial future.
Fully half of married U.S. women will experience divorce or widowhood, triggering major shifts in assets and income.  With the Great Wealth Transfer underway, women are expected to inherit over $30 trillion in the coming decades. Add to this the rise in women’s workforce participation  and it’s clear: women now control more wealth, and face more complex financial decisions, than ever before.
We aren't just a financial services firm for women; we’re fierce advocates for them. That advocacy shows up in how we work with clients, but also in how we show up for our industry, our community, and the next generation of women leaders.
My firm is quietly reshaping what financial services should look like: from the inside out. I’ve seen firsthand how traditional financial service companies often leave women out of the conversation by talking over them, underestimating them, or ignoring their needs entirely. We challenge the financial industry’s unspoken rules about who financial services are for, and how they should be delivered.
For 30 years, my company has stood for integrity, transparency, and honesty in all we do. As fiduciaries, we are legally required to put your interests first, even when it’s not profitable for us to do so.
Godfrey Financial is deeply committed to the Capital Region of NY: in 2000 I instituted a corporate policy to give back to our community. Each year, we donate at least 10 percent of our net profits to local nonprofit organizations.
