The most important woman in my life is my wife. She has dedicated her life to serving others through nursing, starting at 14 years old. I look up to women like her. I especially admire her mother. She was a single mother and an OBGYN who helped deliver thousands of babies and successfully ran her practice for over 35 years, only retiring due to COVID-19.
Her mother is actually the reason why I do what I do. Without her, I would not be where I am today. A few days before COVID-19 started, I talked with her, and she asked me what I would do if I weren’t a nurse. Without hesitation, I told her I would do what my financial advisor does. She empowered me to dive into that industry. Because of this conversation, I entered the financial advisory industry with the mentorship of my financial advisor.
The healthcare industry is female-dominated, and I knew I wanted to bring people in the healthcare industry the same financial confidence that I could find, especially during the uncertainty of COVID-19. Four years later, I am still inspired by my mother-in-law to help women become as successful as her, not only in wealth but also in the way that they manage their finances. I want women to feel welcome in this industry, and I want to help them take charge of their financial future.
Being an active and committed member of my community, I have always strived to give back in the best way possible. I accomplished this through my role as a nurse. After a decade of nursing, I found my calling in the financial services industry. I became inspired and shifted my focus from caring for my clients’ physical well-being to their financial ones.
During my time as a nurse, I witnessed my colleagues struggle to support their families and lifestyles due to poor financial planning feeling controlled by their bills and finances. Being a father of two wonderful children, I wanted to make sure that I planned for not only my future but their future as well. This led me to go to a financial advisor so that they could help me efficiently manage my money. After seeing how much my life could improve, I was immediately fascinated by the world of financial advising. Reflecting on my experience as a nurse, I wanted to make sure nurses and other professionals received the financial help they needed.
Today, with my clients, we navigate various challenges using holistic financial strategies that combine insurance/protection vehicles with wealth accumulation strategies. With family and happiness being the focal point of my life, I am passionate about educating others on financial topics related to how they can reach their individual, family, and/or business goals and live their definitions of success and happiness.
