Because I am a Woman and Let’s Face It… Women need the MOST HELP when it comes to financial planning.
Women face unique challenges such as living longer, taking time off from their career to be a caretaker, wage gap, lack of financial literacy, and most of us just don't feel comfortable talking about money. The good news is that financial planning and investing isn't rocket science. Although, the industry uses jargon to make it sound like rocket science.
My mom went through a tough divorce in the mid-90s. She was a homemaker and discovered that her husband of 20 years had a long-term affair. She had no idea how to handle the financial piece of the puzzle. In 2006, I became a financial advisor with the goal to help as many women going through life transitions as possible. Since then, I have helped hundreds of women feel more secure about their financial future. Also, I received my Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® designation to further my knowledge of financial considerations during a divorce. I was divorced myself and know that the roller coaster of uncertainty during the process is extremely difficult.
It's also no surprise that women tend to outlive men and have a higher likelihood of needing long-term care. I have helped numerous women that have recently become widowed. In most cases, the husband handled most of the financial matters. I love stepping in and educating women about their investments and building a new financial plan for their security.
